Today is Day 10, meaning I have completed 10 days of the program. Tomorrow I get to move on to a new Transform DVD. Woo hoo!
Yesterday, Day 9, I was only able to do the Transform DVD. It was a crazy day, and I just couldn't fit in cardio. I actually had to split the muscle work into two sections and finish the legs after the kids were in bed.
Today I did it all! For the cardio I played my own music. Man did that help. The Black Eyed Peas brought it home for me towards the end when I was ready to quit. In transform I met my goal of 40 reps on the legs for 3 out of the 4 exercises. On that last one I could only do 35 on each side. My buns were on fire!
Today my little guy decided to make some paper shreds under the desk while I danced like a maniac.
Every ten days I have to chart my measurements, so here are mine.
Day 1 Day 10
Bust 40" 39.5"
Arm 11.5" 11"
Waist 35" 35"
Hips 39.5" 39"
Thigh 24" 23.5"
Weight 149 152
What the heck happened with my weight?!? I'm beyond annoyed, but I'm not going to quit. I am fully aware that I need to get my eating and wine consumption under control. I might need a lobotomy. I know, and yet I don't change. My love affair with food needs to take a breather. I am super pleased with losing 2" overall. That's encouraging for sure.
On to Workout 2...

Day 8 - My Click Day
Ahhhhh...Finally!
This picture represents my mind, not my body. Work in progress.
Today everything clicked! I think up until this point I was in survival mode to get through the workouts. Today my head seemed calmer, and even though it was still very difficult I really enjoyed both the cardio and transform.
Cardio - I survived the entire 30 minutes with just three short breaks for a sip of water, and it was fun!
Transform - The leg work is still killer. Thanks to my calm head I was able to count my reps today. Tracy does 40 of each exercise. I am up to 30. When I think back, my best guess would be that I started around 10-15 for each one, and it was agonizing. I have two days left on Transform Workout 1, and I'm hopeful that I'm up to 40 by day 10.

Days 4-7
Day 4 was a good one. I was finally not sore. Once I started the Cardio Dance I could feel a little burn in my calves, but overall my body had recovered. I still needed breaks throughout for some water and to catch my breath, but each day it was getting a little easier. I still had to take many breaks on the leg work in Transform. Man does it hurt!
Day 5 was July 4th. I'm not going to lie. I skipped. I had a day full of family fun, and working out just didn't happen.
Day 6 felt really good. I made it through the entire Cardio Dance DVD and even gave it a full effort on what Tracy calls an "energy boost" at the end. On the Transform DVD I had both kids trying to do it with me. Distraction while working out is so hard.
Between Days 6 and 7 was a rest day.
Today was Day 7 I am feeling pretty run down today, so I only did half of the Cardio DVD. I can still tell it's getting easier each time though. I think I must be getting stronger. I am also almost able to do all of the leg work on Transform. I still take a rest on each exercise.
I must be getting stronger, but it certainly isn't showing on the scale. It hasn't budged since I started. I also have not noticed a change in my clothes. Maybe my Day 10 when I have to measure I will see a slight improvement. We'll see.

Day 3
I do not plan on posting every day, but I feel like the first 10 days will be the most challenging, so for now I am.
Day 3 was still a sore day, but aside from that it was a less than 100% effort day by far. I'd give it about a 65% effort. Today was my first day to do this without my husband home to take over kid duties.
Cardio - I had only 20 minutes to devote to the cardio dance today because I had exactly 50 minutes to workout before leaving to pick up my daughter from golf camp.
Transform - MANY interruptions thanks to this little guy...
"Mommy, I need to go potty!" "Mommy, please wipe my bottom!" Climbing under me. Climbing on top of me. Begging for me to stop exercising and play Leap Frog video. Then grabbing the camera and taking pictures of me while I'm in a state of half-death.
He kept saying, "Say cheese Mommy!" So, I did my best.
I have to also admit that I had a bad eating morning. On the way to golf camp we ran through the Starbucks drive-through. I did a skinny peppermint mocha and a sausage egg sandwich. Stupid move. I really think the sandwich slowed me down. The last two mornings I ate a little granola, yogurt, and fruit. I need to remember this feeling.

Day 2
Let me just start with this. After today's workout, I could hardly walk. My calves are in so much pain!
I realized that saying I did 20 minutes of the Cardio DVD yesterday was a lie. I did probably fifteen. Today I did the entire thirty, and as I'm huffing and puffing my daughter says, "Why don't you take a sip of water. That should help." I did, it did not. This cardio dance is HARD. It's essentially non-stop jumping for half an hour. With a few short breaks for dry heaving, I did make it through the entire thing today though. Towards the end Tracy says, "You should be sweating. You'll learn to love sweat." Sure I will.
The muscle work was more difficult today also. I did not realize how much I had worked my abs until I did the first crunch. They were pretty sore. My legs were much worse off. I have to rest quite a bit during the leg work for both legs, and I did start with left today.
I'm in a world of hurt today, but I need to just push through it. By day four or five I should be on a roll, right?

Day 1
Today I am starting Tracy Anderson's Metamorphosis for Omnicentric body types. I just finished the first day of workouts, and it was tough. I have been someone who exercises on and off since college. Lately, it's been very off.
I have Tracy's Perfect Design Series and Dance Cardio DVDs that she released before Metamorphosis. I love her method. I was in ballet for years growing up, and she uses so many ballet-style movements. I also love to dance, so her dance cardio is perfect for me.
I have put off ordering Metamorphosis in fear that I would do my typical try it for a week and stop routine. I really hope with the muscular workouts changing every 10 days boredom will not be as much of an issue. The program is $90 + shipping, so I need to stick with it for a while.
Today I did the 30-minute Dance Cardio workout and the first 30-minute workout on Transform 1.
Cardio
This was HARD. I am out of shape. I have read complaints about not being able to follow her, but since I have done her previous DVDs I actually found this one was much easier to follow. I was able to do 20 of the 30 minutes before I had to stop. It is constant jumping, dancing, and moving. Sweat was dripping off of my face.
Transform
I love Tracy's muscular structure work, and this was perfect. Her muscle work is unlike anything else I've tried. It's very different and does take some getting used to. I had a hard time with the standing abs on her Perfect Design Series the first few times, but with some practice I caught on. She starts you out slow on Metamorphosis, and it is only 30 minutes. She does wear out the right leg before moving to the left, so I think tomorrow I will start with the left.
